Michael J. Burton has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as senior vice president and chief development officer. In this role, he works closely with senior leadership, physicians, and faculty members to design and execute the strategic plan for the growth of the Center’s philanthropic programs.
Previously, Burton served as chief development officer at the American Association for Cancer Research and executive director of the AACR Foundation. Before that, he was assistant dean for development and alumni affairs at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. In addition to development roles at Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania, Burton served as a special assistant to Penn president Judith Rodin and as a legislative and press assistant to the late Congressman Tom Lantos in Washington, D.C. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
