Fox Chase Physicians Listed Among Among Region's Best in Philadelphia Magazine 2011 "Top Doctors" Issue

PHILADELPHIA (May 2, 2011) – Philadelphia magazine has highlighted 31 Fox Chase Cancer Center physicians from a range of specialties in its May "Top Doctors" issue, now available on newsstands. The annual list of “Top Doctors” serves as an important standard for anyone seeking expert medical care in the Philadelphia area. It lists doctors who were selected among the region's best by a national survey of professional peers.

"Our entire team of physicians provides outstanding cancer care. We are especially proud to see that 31 of them have been recognized by Philadelphia magazine as ‘top doctors’ in the region,” says Michael Seiden, MD, PhD, President and CEO of Fox Chase. “Listings like these influence patient care decision-making and are a point of pride for our Center.”

This year's "Top Doctors" issue also features a special editorial section, called “What Nurses Wish You Knew.” For this section, the magazine held roundtable discussions with some of the region’s best nurses—including Joanne Hambleton, RN, MSN, NE-BC, Vice President of Nursing and Patient Services at Fox Chase and Theresa Pody, RN, MSN, NE-BC, Clinical Director of Inpatient Medical Oncology at Fox Chase—to gain insights and opinions on their work and their patients.
