learn more about Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that relies on a gentle touch and a simple transfer of energy to promote healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
Where and when is Reiki given?
Reiki is most often given in the Reiki room in Boo’s Boutique on the first floor of the Young Pavilion.
At times sessions may be given in the hospital or other departments.
Reiki practitioners are most often available to provide a session Monday-Friday. A few sessions are offered on the weekends; all sessions are based on the Reiki practitioners’ availabilities.
If you would like a Reiki session, call 215-728-2411 with the date and time desired. Your request will be sent out to the Reiki practitioners. All efforts will be made to accommodate your request.
Is there a charge for Reiki?
No, there is no charge for Reiki. Fox Chase is committed to offering this valuable service to our patients.
What can I expect to happen?
You will be greeted by one of our Reiki practitioners in the waiting area of the Boutique. You will be assisted on to a table where you will lie on your back, remaining clothed. If you have any difficulty getting on the table or lying flat, we will make adjustments. The lights will be dimmed and relaxing music will be playing. All you have to do is close your eyes and relax.
The Reiki practitioner will either lightly touch or hold their hands over your body. You may feel warmth, tingling, vibration, cold, or perhaps nothing at all. Most people state they feel relaxed after the session. Regardless of what you may or may not feel, the healing energy will go to where it is needed most -- your mind, body, or spirit.
