Jeannie Watson, Secretary
As devastating as it was when my husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005, we were blessed to have found Fox Chase Cancer Center. We live in New Jersey and endure the traveling because there is no better hospital than Fox Chase. In 2008 the cancer spread to my husband's spinal cord and lining of the brain. Against all odds, the competent doctors at Fox Chase saved my husband's life. Due to their amazing knowledge and compassion, my husband, children and I have been able to lead a fairly normal life. At times when it seemed too much to bear, the social workers at Fox Chase let us know we weren't alone.
While going through this very tumultuous time, I worked for the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census. I felt honored to be a part of the 2010 Census. Previously, I worked for Applebee's as a host and trainer where I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the guests.
As I continue to care for my husband, who is still a patient at Fox Chase, I enjoy working on the Patient-Family Advisory Council. Although there is no way I could ever repay the staff at Fox Chase for giving me my husband back, I will do my very best to represent patients and their families who have been stricken with this challenging disease.
