PHILADELPHIA (December 11, 2023) — Fox Chase Cancer Center and Fels Cancer Institute for Personalized Medicine researchers will participate in the presentation of six research projects at the 65th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting & Exposition, which is being held in San Diego, California December 9-12.

PHILADELPHIA (November 29, 2023) — A new study co-authored by a researcher from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Fox Chase Cancer Center helps explain why drugs targeting a type of enzyme called PIM kinases, which are known to play an important role in several cancers, have largely failed in clinical trials. The findings also indicate that another approach may be significantly more effective.

PHILADELPHIA (November 28, 2023) — Research into alternative therapies for breast and ovarian cancers that contain BRCA1, PALB2, or BRCA2 mutations has focused on developing new drugs targeting an enzyme that helps repair damaged DNA. But a study published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center shows that this approach may be most effective for PALB2 and BRCA2 mutation-containing cancers.

Reddy, MD, FACS, Co-Director of the Marvin & Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Institute and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently appointed to a volunteer position with the American Board of Surgery and a position with the Society of Surgical Oncology.

PHILADELPHIA (November 13, 2023) — Edna “Eti” Cukierman, PhD, Co-Director of the Marvin & Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute and Co-Leader of the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently awarded the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Wilmott Family Professorship in Pancreatic Cancer.
